Apple Sues HTC For Patent Infringement

Apple Inc. (AAPL) has begun the process to sue HTC Corp. (HTCXF), which makes a number of smartphones using Google Inc.’s (GOOG) Android mobile software, including the Google phone, Nexus One, over alleged patent violations.

Apple accuses HTC of violating 10 patents in a lawsuit with a federal court in Delaware, and 10 patents with the U.S. International Trade Commission. The complaint covers the touch-screen control, hardware and software, and seeks to ban the sale of phones such as the Nexus One, sold directly by Google, as well as phones using Microsoft Corp.’s (MSFT) Windows Mobile devices.

Apple is trying to drop the bomb on Google via HTC.  This should get interesting.
