Sorry Mashable, But Your IPhone App is Way Slow.
I want to start this by saying that I am very fond of the people over at Mashable and have nothing but respect for them. Not to mention that it is always a treat to see Pete Cashmore’s adorable face flowing through my Twitter stream, but I’m not impressed with the Mashable Iphone app. Now, I’m not trying to start a mudslinging war here but I’m not sure I see the purpose. Yes, I get that the app allows you to view everything that is going on at Mashable.com in one easy app but so far, I have to say it is dreadfully slow on my 3 month new Iphone.
In fact, I am about ready to remove it because it is just as easy for me to see what’s going on at Mashable by setting up a column in my TweetDeck for Iphone and much faster. At this point, I don’t have a special column for Mashable but what I do have is their Tweets being sent via SMS to my Iphone so I can easily click and open up a Safari window. And with the app’s load wait time often being a minute or more long, (yes, I actually timed it) it’s a lot faster for me to open Safari and go to their website.
So, with the utmost respect to Mashable, I think the app needs a little more work. I hope you all can take a little constructive criticism.
