The Birth of a Web Designer

In a previous life, I was a tech instructor in Kansas City at a local tech institute, Centriq Training. In my over 2 years at Centriq, I was the Sr. Technical trainer for all Adobe products, HTML, XML, Javascript, etc. etc. And my goal was to get every student to think of themselves “The president of their own professional services firm”.

Of the hundreds of students that I taught a class too, very few had the drive, desire and inherent curiosity that Andrew Barrows possesses. He is almost a bit OCD with it, actually. When someone has such a passion for learning and is a resourceful person to find mentors and sources of information, good things come of it. Andrew has grown his ability as a designer and into a phenomenal web developer, mastering many languages.

Maybe you like tech stuff and have thought of getting a career in the field. If you have passion for tech and learning, then you can do great things. If you aren’t committed then don’t. It’s a waste of money. I find the more I learn about my field and industry… the more I earn.

This is Andrew’s entry into a Centriq competition describing his experience. And why he thinks its important to go ahead and decide to give yourself a better life. If you like the video, give him a vote and/or a comment. I’m sure he’d appreciate that.
