WTF Google? Google Street View Snooped WiFi for Personal Data

All your base are belong to Google.

Google may have collected emails and other private information while using their “Street View” cars. If they traveled over WiFi networks while one of the cars was in range, they may have started to collect your data. Previously, the company denied that any data was ever intercepted.

In a blog post published on Friday afternoon, Google said that it collected the data by “mistake” and that the data has not been used in any Google products.  Then the person who wrote the blog post started laughing maniacally. “Muwh ahah ahahahaahaaaaaa”

“Don’t be evil.”  This is Google’s official unofficial mantra. Well, this is getting interesting, between Facebook and Google and their recent trust issues, what is happening with web data security?  You got Mark “Zuck” Zuckerberg calling any user that trusted him with their data as a “dumb f#@k”.  This type of behavior from two of the world’s most powerful companies a bit unnerving.

It’s amazing to me.  Google’s driving around analyzing  our Wifi data and “Zuck” don’t give a f#@k.  Wow.

Seems to me that 2010-2019 will be all about security and web privacy.  It could also become a catalyst to a more mandated government run internet.

These internet industry leaders need to wake up and do the right thing.
