Today Google annouced it was replacing the SearchWiki feature with Stars.

With stars, you can simply click the star marker on any search result or map and the next time you perform a search, that item will appear in a special list right at the top of your results when relevant. That means if you star the official websites for your favorite football teams, you might see those results right at the top of your next search for [nfl].

I really like this idea of using stars as I already use them for my Gmail and items I want to check out later on with Google Reader. It also helps in allowing you to have your favorite searches right there at the top of your search results and of course it is dead simple to implement a star.

Good work Google!

FYI Stars in search are rolling out in the next couple days and will be available globally for all signed-in users.

In what can only be a bad thing for online video service Hulu and just overall crappy news as Viacom has announced they will pull The Daily Show and The Colbert Report from Hulu in the next week and stream only stream them on the shows websites as well as the Comedy Central site.

Obviously Viacom feels it can get more money from advertising on its own sites then it will get with Hulu and this is not good for us the fans who have enjoyed getting our shows streamed from the popular service Hulu.

Are things changing? Is this just the beginning of shows being pulled from the service? What are your thoughts?

One of my favorite services to use with Firefox and now that I am using Chrome is Feedly. Recently the service announced they are working on going mobile. AWESOME!!!

Not familiar with Feedly well it is an extension you can install for your browser that can take you Google Reader items or your Twitter items and put them into a magazine like environment with some really kool features.

I really like Feedly and was super excited to see they are working on a mobile version of the service. For a look at their early prototype check out the video below.

Check out this YouTube video [having an embedding issue]

Pretty kool looking stuff if you ask me. What are you thoughts? Do you use feedly now?

You have Twitter that lets you tell the world whats happening now and you have Foursquare that lets you tell the world where you are now but now there is a new service called Plancast that lets you tell the world what are you doing in a little bit or even what you will be doing far in the future.

Plancast is a service for sharing your upcoming plans with friends. It’s a social calendar of sorts. Just submit the things you’re thinking about doing in the future, and your friends will be able to hear about them – and maybe join you, too!

Along with sharing your future plans on the site itself it integrates with your Facebook by grabbing your events you have announced you will be attending as well as sharing your future plans on your wall. It also will brodcast your future plans on Twitter as well.

Kind of a kool service to help you show where you will be, promote an event, and find out who you will see in the future.
